Following weeks of hard work we are ready to welcome you to our beautifully refurbished and restored pub, restaurant and guest house.

Enjoy the ambient surroundings of our 'Walkers' bar and either relax on our comfortable sofas or share a table with friends for a hearty pub lunch.

For quieter surroundings -the chequers inn boasts a beautiful riverside garden & terrace, or on a winters day sit by our open fire and enjoy a drink, a meal or an aperitif before you experience the delights of our restaurant - Hiltonz at the Chequers.

Finally, if you are not so local, visiting on business, fly fishing or just getting away, take advantage of one of our guest rooms where Jane Austen herself often frequented.
